Just How Big is Too Big?

Just How Big is Too Big?

Ramy’s giant RC Boeing 777X is finally here and it’s a jaw-dropper! From the reveal to the test flight, this video is a must-watch for anyone who loves RC planes. It’s no doubt a masterpiece. But here’s the real question: Have we now reached the limit? Watch now and tell us if this RC plane is epic… or just too extreme? Drop your thoughts in the comments!

  1. This model is a tremendous accomplishment from engineering, design, technology and flyability. Congratulations to Tyler and Ramy.

Its size and weight moves it out of the model category and requires FAA certification which is an accomplishment itself.

A lot of the technology and processes could be used on smaller builds as well.

    Congratulations on this wonderful aircraft.

  2. Is this at Tyler Perry’s House in Georgia USA?

  3. Sorry. NOT model airplane. Perhaps EAA is where the should be classed. That doesn’t imply anything negative about the build or the need to do this. If one has the funds and the ability to do this… go for it!! Large scale replica RPV.

Otherwise… I love they are having a great experience. Love seeing this.

  4. One of the reasons I left R/C after 40 years was the fact that it seemed that size had become the only thing that mattered. My club had become a contest to see who could show up at the field with the biggest model every week. I never saw the point.

  5. When guys are involved, it always devolves to ” Mine is bigger than yours”. You don’t have to be Freud to decode this. Cars – 800 hp is not enough. Motorcycles- 175mph is not enough. Etc, etc.

  6. I live the approach over the castle.

  7. The difference between men and billionaires is the price of their toys.

  8. I agree. The craftsmanship and flying is impressive but, starting 57 years ago with a barely affordable Goldberg Falcon 56 and Heathkit radio, it was possible for the average person to show up at the field knowing you were in the presence of fellow modelers. The current trend to ever larger & more sophisticated models puts the hobby beyond the reach of most.

  9. It’s true that generally large flies better. If you make it big enough you might offer to fly it for the National Gard!!. I did this for the Minnesota Gard at the RC field field on Grand Fork AFB I believe it was the summer of 1996
Every one had a great time trying to hit my Mig 21 Floger, thy were using a 20mm with laser shots. I burn a lot of nitro.

  10. I love my models, but I like to eat:) Fantastic achievement!

  11. Realllly Awsome ,the craftsmanship and flying. My Centre Point School students were awestruck and so excited viewing the video. Marvelous piece of design engineering. Suuuuppppperb.

  12. This is an absolute masterpiece!! Ramy and is team are truly fantastic engineers and great at troubleshooting on the fly! Tyler is an awesome pilot and I enjoy seeing what comes next. How about some warbirds?

  13. I think this air plane is absolutely beautiful I really loved watching the videos. Perfect craftsmanship you all should be very proud. The only thing that I thought took away from it was you should have used gas turbine engines I think that would have made it perfect but that is my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Again thank you for this beautiful piece of art.

  14. Hello Earle, yes the same is happening in my country. Bigger and more and more expensive . They are also Chinese imports, not scratchbuilt. At least I have not experienced discrimination from the big mòdel pilots.

  15. Ramy is one of the best buider, system integrators in the model airplane world. The fact that he has a gracious benefactor in Tyler Perry is great for Ramy and the continued development of model airplane systems. We should all be happy some one is able to do this. It that nothing away from me flying a 060 Class foamy. Great work Ramy!

  16. I started flying with a Berkley SeaCat in 1958 on escapements and progressed up the line to a 10ft Ford trimotor flown by Clyde Ice who was the first pilot and airplane to haul 500 people in a day in 1928. I modeled the plane and made my own corrugating roller for 0.004 aluminum and flew with 3 Technopower 9 cyl engines at Las Vegas. I knew the pilot who died at 102 in 1991 I live in NE Wyoming. I am 92 and time is running out but I still fly.
